Winning on the road is a must if you want to make it to the NBA Finals.
Home-court advantage is crucial in seven-game playoff series, and stealing one away from home is great to shift momentum, especially if you’re the underdog.
That’s why there are so many concerns about the Golden State Warriors’ chances of winning back-to-back titles this season.
It’s been a tale of two whole different teams for the Dubs at home and away from the Bay area, and it’s hard — or almost impossible — to explain that drop-off.
The Warriors have been so bad on the road that they’re the only reigning champion in NBA history to have at least two losing streaks of at least eight road games in the very same season, according to NBA on ESPN.

Their defense has been atrocious, they can’t seem to catch their groove, and they’ve dropped games they should’ve easily won versus lesser teams.
As things stand now, the Warriors have a 7-26 road record (third-worst in the West), as opposed to an impressive 27-7 at home (third-best).
Steve Kerr’s team is sitting at the sixth spot in the Western Conference, and there’s still a chance that they could climb to fourth or even third, but they could also fall to the play-in tournament if they don’t get their act together soon enough.
The Warriors have more experience than anyone else in the league when it comes to the playoffs, but it doesn’t seem like they have it in them to get the job done this time around.
Will they prove us wrong again?
We’ll have to wait and see.
