The Portland Trail Blazers have put many NBA speculators to shame in the early days of the season.
That is because the team got off to a wonderful start, claiming a 4-0 record, which has now dropped to a very admirable 4-1 record.
They are currently tied for first in the Western Conference, despite the fact that many experts didn’t even think they’d get close to the play-in tournament this year.
“I’m told Damian Lillard underwent an MRI today that reveled a grade-1 calf strain. He will be out at least one to two weeks.”

It’s a long season and their standing could certainly fall in the weeks and months ahead.
In fact, they are about to face a long and challenging stretch because they are losing their best player.
Damian Lillard will miss at least one to two weeks due to a grade-one calf strain, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
The superstar recently underwent an MRI to confirm his injury and the treatment began immediately after.
The Blazers can get by without Lillard but the past has shown that it won’t be easy.
Lillard Lighting Up
Lillard must have heard all of the people talking badly about his team over the summer.
Surely that must be one of the reasons why he’s gotten off to such a great start for 2022-23.
Logo Lillard has averaged 31 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists during his first five games, which is higher than his career averages and has put him into the MVP conversation straight out of the gate.
He has obviously been a huge part of Portland’s surprise start to the year.
How do they manage without him?
You can expect head coach Chauncey Billups to turn to Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant, and Josh Hart a lot more.
Shaedon Sharpe should also be ready to step it up.
The team’s winning record will be put to the test in the weeks ahead.
