The Tennessee Titans continue to clean house, this time releasing veteran center Ben Jones.
Jones, one of the most respected and beloved figures inside the locker room, was informed of his release early in the day according to Ian Rapoport.

According to the report, the Titans pretty much put Jones against the wall, forcing him to choose between retirement or being released.
The Titans will save nearly $4 million by parting ways with their veteran, which doesn’t look like all that much money for one of their leaders, all things considered.
He was the best offensive lineman on the team since his arrival, not to mention a respected figure in the locker room, so this move might not sit well with some of the other veterans on the team.
Jones was at his best last season before a pair of concussions sent him back home early, but he had also been one of the most durable and reliable players on the team during his career.
Now, he’ll become a free agent and quite a sought-after commodity around the league, as there’s not exactly a lot of depth at the center position, and multiple teams could use an improvement in the middle of their offensive line.
As for the Titans, it seems like they’re just falling apart at this point, and the reports of their interest in parting ways with Derrick Henry are worrisome.
