Just a few weeks ago, Matt Ryan was turning a lot of heads during his games with the Los Angeles Lakers.
He was averaging just 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds during his 12 games but he was showing a lot of fight and enthusiasm.
Plus, he came in clutch, especially during one crucial came where he forced overtime due to a buzzer-beater shot.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are signing ex-Lakers wing shooter Matt Ryan on a two-way NBA contract, sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski. Ryan had a solid stint for the Lakers, making 13 three-pointers over 12-game stretch.

But the Lakers recently waived Ryan as they prepared for the December 15 trade timeline for free agents.
That left Ryan without a home in the NBA but he has found a new one.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are signing Ryan to a two-way NBA contract.
This is good news for the young player and very promising for the Timberwolves’ offense too since Ryan made 13 three-pointers during his 12 games in LA.
Will Ryan find more success in Minnesota than he did in Los Angeles?
Matt Moves To Minnesota
You can’t help but root Ryan on.
Just a few years ago, he was working for his family’s cemetery and driving for DoorDash in order to make ends meet as he pursued a career in basketball.
He then entered the G League and fought hard to get noticed.
Sure enough, he did and it seemed like he’d fit in well with the Lakers.
And he did and proved his worth but the team’s lineup didn’t have enough space for Ryan, especially as the front office started eying some big changes in the near future.
If Ryan can again show what he’s capable of for the Timberwolves, he might get a lot more time on the court.
He won’t be a starter, at least not for some time, but his future may be bright in Minnesota.
