Fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder were expecting a great season, thanks to a few young core players and the addition of rookie phenom Chet Holmgren.
However, Holmgren got hurt in the summer, which seemingly spelled certain doom for the team in 2022-23.
While they are still a long way off from being definite playoff contenders, the Thunder have been very fun and exciting lately.
Going 3-1 on a 4 game road trip for the Thunder is remarkable… beat the Sixers, Bulls and Nets
Only lost by 1 to the Heat and it took a historic free throw game to beat OKC.
Something special is brewing in OKC

They just went 3-1 on a 4-game road trip and beat the Philadelphia 76ers, the Chicago Bulls, and Brooklyn Nets.
And they lost to the Miami Heat by just one single point.
If the Thunder would have won that game, they would currently be on a six-game winning streak.
The obvious truth is that the Thunder are coming together and proving they are a team to watch.
On Sunday night, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey each scored 28 points and helped their squad overcome the Brooklyn Nets.
Luguentz Dort also made an impact with 22 points of his own.
How far can this team go this season?
They are consistently doing better than expected and some people think that perhaps the playoffs really aren’t that much of a long shot if they keep playing like this.
What’s more likely is a possible spot in the play-in tournament.
Following that, the upcoming season will be what fans should really be excited about because Holmgren will be back and this team that is already promising will be even more special.
Over the next few days, the Thunder will battle against the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, and others.
Will they keep showing NBA followers why people should not write them off?
