The Oklahoma City Thunder didn’t make any major splashes this week as the NBA trade deadline came and went.
But that doesn’t mean they haven’t been hard at work behind the scenes, quietly accumulating a lot of potential for the next few seasons.

In fact, the Thunder now have 34 picks in the next seven NBA drafts.
This major haul includes 15 first-round picks and 19 second-round selections too.
This is a team that is already considered one of the most promising up-and-coming squads in the league so the fact that they have so many draft picks in the bank means they will get even better in the years ahead.
Just how high can this team climb?
Right now, they are struggling as they are the 12th seed in the West.
But that’s actually a lot better than some people expected.
The expert work of upstarts like Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort, Jalen Williams, and especially Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has made the team one of the most exciting in the Western Conference.
But the upcoming drafts will make them even better.
However, we don’t know what will happen with these coveted picks.
Will the team hold onto them and try to land the latest and greatest young stars as they enter the league?
Or will they trade away all of these picks so that they can add more talent?
The number of draft picks they have gathered means they have a lot of options too.
But no matter what the Thunder do, it is clear that the team is headed in the right direction.
Fans of the franchise think the next few years could be very good for OKC.
The large number of draft picks the team has means they are probably right.
