Even though the National Football League is mostly watched on American soil, the Super Bowl has historically transcended all borders and reached every single corner on Earth, and its 57th edition wasn’t the exception to that rule.
Millions of people were eager to watch Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts going at it to decide the new NFL champion, this being one of the most anticipated matchups we had seen in years.
That’s why it’s not surprising to see that this was the most-viewed Super Bowl in the past six years, drawing a total audience of 113 million viewers, according to NFL insider Dov Kleiman.
Shockingly, the game wasn’t even the peak in terms of viewership, as Rihanna’s halftime show actually drew more viewers than the game itself, a whopping 118.7 million.

Of course, there was plenty of hype and nearly-unmatched expectations to watch the legendary pop star perform, as she had been away from the stage and the recording studio for quite a while now, and there was speculation about potential appearances of Drake, Kanye West, and/or Jay-Z.
While that didn’t happen, Rihanna’s halftime performance didn’t disappoint in the slightest, and it’ll go down as one of the most epic in recent times.
As for the game, well, saying that it was a nail-bitter would be a major understatement, as it went down to the wire and showed some of the most electrifying offensive displays in recent NFL history, with the Chiefs taking the Vince Lombardi trophy back to Missouri with a 38-35 win.
