Quite a few NBA teams have revealed plans to wear throwback jerseys in the 2022-23 season – and now the Phoenix Suns are joining the retro party.
Along with the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, and others, the Suns are going to be wearing a classic outfit in the new season.

The Suns revealed their classic “Sunburst” jerseys on Twitter the other day.
In a post featuring Deandre Ayton rocking the jersey and using an ancient-looking cellphone, Phoenix announced the return of this beloved look.
It’s been some time since we have seen these jerseys – will they fire up the team and inspire members to push even harder and achieve even more?
A Classic Look
These throwback jerseys are celebrating a 30-year anniversary.
Anyone who watched the Suns back in the 1990s will remember this iconic look and will celebrate its return.
The sunburst design was the first major redesign of the team’s uniforms in more than 20 years.
They first debuted on November 7, 1992, at the start of a season that saw the Suns go 62-20 and reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1976, thanks to the hard work of Charles Barkley, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, and others.
The Suns are hoping to match – or even surpass – that ’92 team.
The squad has had a string of strong regular seasons lately, but their postseason output has been disappointing, especially last season when they got surprisingly stomped by the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals.
Of course, these jerseys won’t really do anything to improve the team’s skills but they could possibly inspire the players to try harder and come together.
And the fans will surely love them too.
The Suns are looking to create a very bright season – will these sunburst outfits help them have it?
