The San Antonio Spurs still have one of the best coaches on Earth but the team itself is definitely lacking.
They ended last season in tenth place and missed the playoffs yet again.
It’s been a few years since they really felt like actual contenders, there is no denying that.
But there was a time when all the Spurs did was win and they still hold an impressive record because of that.

In fact, San Antonio has the most wins in the NBA since 2010-11.
The Spurs have 608 victories since 2010, while Golden State Warriors have 586, the Los Angeles Clippers have 573, the Miami Heat have 570, and the Oklahoma City Thunder have 555.
So even though the Spurs aren’t what they once were, they are still an important and storied franchise in the NBA.
Uncertain Spurs Future
The Spurs once had Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili.
In the next few years, they will be led by players such as Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poetl, and Doug McDermott.
It’s obvious that the squad doesn’t have the superstar talent it once did but that doesn’t mean they won’t return to glory at some point.
The team recently traded away Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks, all but confirming that the front office is intent on entering a rebuilding phase that could last a few seasons.
The big question swirling around the team right now is if head coach Gregg Popovich will remain much longer.
He’s been in the game for decades now and is undeniably one of the greatest to ever lead a team.
He has made no secret of his plans to step down soon.
When that day comes, a major chapter for the Spurs – and all of the NBA – will sadly come to an end.

Big Spurs fan. Pop has made no indication of retiring. Yes he’s up there in age, but I doubt he’ll leave San Antonio in shambles.
