Things didn’t go very well for the Houston Rockets on Thursday night, but what else is new?
The team is still the worst in the West with a 10-29 record and there doesn’t seem to be much on the horizon to change that.
Unless something wild happens, they will definitely miss the playoffs and play-in tournament.
There are many NBA fans who don’t watch the Rockets often but it’s important to check in on them from time to time.

This is because they clearly show why they are struggling, despite having some young and talented stars on the roster.
NBA analyst Steve Jones highlighted a particularly rough possession for the Rockets, showcasing so many things that go wrong with the team’s offense.
It was the 4th quarter of the game against the Utah Jazz and the Rockets were only down 10 points with 2:45 left.
In one possession, the ball was tossed around to multiple Houston players, each of them refusing to take a shot and instead letting the clock wind down.
It all came to a head at the end when Kevin Porter Jr., who was surrounded by two defenders and no teammate willing to help him, tried to get a shot off.
It failed, of course.
The entire incident was a prime example of the severe deficiency that the Rockets have.
They are fast and youthful with a lot of potential, but their understanding of how to play together and traverse the court as a real unit hasn’t formed yet.
This possession made them look like a group of strangers who were only relying on themselves.
