The Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals wrote another chapter into their divisional rivalry Sunday night.
On paper, it looked like the matchup would be the Ravens run game versus the Bengals passing attack.
However, the Ravens pass defense showed up at the right time.
The Ravens' pass defense, which ranked last in NFL, held Joe Burrow to 217 yards passing. Baltimore allowed one pass over 20 yards.
Last year against Ravens, Burrow became 1st player in NFL history to record multiple games of 400-plus passing yards vs. one opponent in one season

ESPN NFL Nation writer Jamison Hensley tweeted, “The Ravens’ pass defense, which ranked last in NFL, held Joe Burrow to 217 yards passing. Baltimore allowed one pass over 20 yards. Last year against Ravens, Burrow became 1st player in NFL history to record multiple games of 400-plus passing yards vs. one opponent in one season.”
The Ravens learned their lesson when Burrow torched them in their meetings last year.
But aside from limiting Burrow, they also covered the Bengals’ vaunted receiving corps.
They held Ja’Marr Chase to seven catches for 50 yards and Tyler Boyd to three receptions for 32 yards.
Tee Higgins did not play due to an injury.
Tight end Hayden Hurst, a former Ravens draft pick, led the way for Cincinnati with six receptions for 53 yards.
He also had the Bengals’ lone receiving touchdown.
While the Ravens had only three sacks, they were active in applying pressure to the 2021 Comeback Player of the Year.
Ravens Withstood Cincinnati’s Comeback
The Ravens passing attack remained solid even without wide receiver Rashod Bateman.
Tight end Mark Andrews finished with eight catches for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Devin Duvernay had five receptions for 54 yards.
However, Justin Tucker was the hero of the game with a game-winning field goal.
He scored 13 points by drilling four field goals and an extra point.
With the Ravens now at 3-2, they will try to build a winning streak by defeating the New York Giants in Week 6.
Meanwhile, the Bengals will try to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints.
