The Toronto Raptors fell to a 23-30 record on Wednesday night thanks to Lauri Markkanen and the Utah Jazz.
The 131-128 defeat in Salt Lake City was tough but not that surprising.
That’s because the Raptors have had serious issues all season long.
And those issues were on full display Wednesday evening.

During one possession in the first quarter, many of the problems plaguing the Raptors were very clear.
Scottie Barnes made his way to the basket in hopes of sinking an easy two points, which was easier said than done.
The Jazz defense swarmed all over Barnes, who attempted to lob the shot in.
At one point, his teammate Christian Koloko tried to get in on the action and attempt a dunk but that didn’t work.
Eventually, the Jazz’s suffocating defense was too much for Barnes, who lost the ball.
The entire play was a summation of the Raptors right now.
The team has multiple talented stars, such as Barnes, Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam, and others.
Yet, they are not operating as a cohesive unit.
They feel like a bunch of independent players who aren’t working together.
Over the last few weeks, the Raptors have become a source of extreme speculation and rumors.
The trade deadline is almost here and there are many people thinking Toronto might start its rebuild around then.
Even if they decide to run out the rest of the season with this roster, most insiders agree that the team will attempt to make some major changes in the offseason.
It’s clear that things just aren’t working well with the Raptors right now.
Therefore, big changes might be on the horizon.
