The Los Angeles Rams coaching staff will be without a key contributor in 2023.
After going back and forth between the NCAA and the NFL over the past few seasons, it appears that Liam Coen will be going back to the NCAA.
Officially, the #Rams need a new OC. Meanwhile, the wait continues for their HC, as well. https://t.co/IzmYV5QFCQ

Coen was a member of the Rams’ staff from 2018-2020, where he coached the wide receiver and quarterback rooms.
He briefly left for the University of Kentucky in 2021, (the year the Rams won the Super Bowl), where he was their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
After winning the Super Bowl, the Rams asked Coen back to be their offensive coordinator in 2022, a season that was marred with injuries and was referred to as a Super Bowl hangover by many.
Today, it was announced that Coen would be returning to Kentucky yet again.
When looking at the state of the Rams, they appear to be in shambles.
Not only is Coen now out as their offensive coordinator, but the Rams’ head coaching job is said to be in jeopardy as well.
Sean McVay is known around the league as one of the best coaches.
However, his job has also been called into question, with many NFL pundits wondering if he too will leave the team in the offseason.
Just one year after winning the Super Bowl, the Rams had a record of 5-12, a full four games out of the playoff hunt.
They will need to make significant changes in 2023 to have any chance to get back to the playoffs.
