At the start of the 2023 season, fans, teams, and players across Major League Baseball were preparing for some big changes.
No longer is the shift going to be an issue during MLB games.
Bases are also quite a bit larger this season.
However, the biggest difference we have seen thus far is the amount of time it takes to get through games.
This is thanks in large part to the pitch clock, which gives pitchers 15-20 seconds to deliver a pitch, depending on whether or not runners are on base.
On Monday, the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers lasted just two hours and 12 minutes.
The Arizona #Dbacks' roll continues, win 3-0 over the Milwaukee #Brewers, and move into sole possession of first place in the NL West.

For some time, fans and MLB executives alike have been hoping for a faster-paced game.
Fans got tired of seeing things come to a standstill during games.
However with the pitch clock, a sense of urgency is created for both hitters and pitchers to be ready within a certain amount of time.
If a batter is not in the box and ready to receive a pitch within said amount of time, an automatic strike is called.
If a pitcher fails to deliver a pitch within that time frame, an automatic ball is called.
This has ultimately shaved a lot of time off of MLB games and has given fans what they have wanted to see, which is a faster-paced game with less downtime.
Clearly, the pitch clock worked wonders during the game between the Diamondbacks and Brewers and will continue to do so as the season progresses.
