The news was revealed by Adrian Wojnarowski and sent a shockwave through the NBA.
This is a huge deal for Philadelphia, who were already having an up-and-down season that wasn’t playing out as people expected.
What are the chances that things get even worse without Harden?
Hurting Without Harden
Throughout the summer, Harden had been telling fans and the press that he was on the verge of having one of his best seasons ever.
After weeks in the gym, a pay cut to assist the team, and a renewed sense of determination, Harden came into the season with his sights set on the Finals.
Things didn’t go very well at the beginning and the team went 0-3 to start the year.
True to his word, Harden has been looking better than in previous seasons.
He is averaging 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists a game.
And his field goal and three-point percentages have jumped up too, allowing Harden to appear like a younger version of himself again.
The team will try to carry the load without Harden’s offensive output.
Luckily for them, other guys like Tyrese Maxey are eager to fight even more and play even harder.
Philly didn’t have Joel Embiid the other night due to an illness so now the team is desperate to have him back as soon as possible.
