Are the New England Patriots in line to change up the way that they operate as an organization?
For years, although they have had people in place as their offensive coordinators, it looks like they might be making a big change, especially considering their current search for a new OC.
The #Patriots have requested permission to speak with #Vikings WRs coach Keenan McCardell for their OC position, sources say. He joins a growing list of candidates that also includes #Bama OC Bill O'Brien.

The Patriots are not messing around when it comes to their search for a new OC.
They are looking to interview Minnesota Vikings wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell along with University of Alabama OC Bill O’Brien.
McCardell is not exactly a household name in terms of NFL coaches, so let’s get to know him a bit more.
He played as a wide receiver in the league for 17 seasons and has been a coach for 11 years, always as a wide receivers coach.
McCardell’s experience as a player and a coach could serve him well as a member of the Patriots organization.
The Patriots are a team that is known to have a winning culture and are sure to make the most informed decision possible when selecting a new OC.
Besides McCardell, the Patriots are also looking at O’Brien in this role.
O’Brien certainly has a longer coaching tenure than McCardell, including two separate head coaching roles, one at the collegiate level, and one at the NFL level.
Speaking of winning ways, O’Brien’s tenure at Alabama could hold a lot of weight within the Patriots organization, potentially swaying their decision to hire him.
The next OC of the Patriots will certainly have their work cut out for them.
