The Carolina Panthers have been one of the busiest teams during the 2023 NFL offseason.
This was evidenced by their massive trade with the Chicago Bears, resulting in the Panthers receiving the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Since that initial move, the Panthers have also been aggressive on offense, adding several new contributors.
They have added Adam Thielen, Miles Sanders, Hayden Hurst, and Andy Dalton, but don’t appear to be stopping there.
According to recent reporting, the Panthers are still in communication with D.J. Chark, another possible free-agent wide receiver.
Update: The #Panthers now confirm that they're still talking to former #Lions WR DJ Chark, despite already signing Adam Thielen, as the report from yesterday indicated. https://t.co/YrgRRAUeXi

These moves come on the heels of the Panthers trading away D.J. Moore, a casualty on their search for the number one overall pick.
While Chark or Thielen don’t necessarily possess the physical attributes of Moore, they both have extensive experience.
Chark is a five-year NFL veteran who has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons.
When healthy, Chark has proven to be a valuable contributor.
In 2019, Chark racked up 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns.
While he wasn’t able to get much going in his one season with the Detroit Lions, it appears that Chark is on the hunt, and has been coveted by several teams.
The Panthers are presumably slated to draft a quarterback with their top selection.
By targeting veteran receivers, whoever their next starter is will be set up in a great position, throwing to receivers with experience.
The Panthers finished the 2022 season with a 7-10 record and will look to improve upon that with their newest offensive additions.
