The World Series is set.
Starting on Friday night, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros will square off in the Fall Classic for the first time.
The San Diego Padres were one of the few teams that were unlucky enough to cross paths with the red-hot Phillies.
The two teams met in the NLCS in the first ever matchup between the bottom two Wild Cards in a postseason series.
The Phillies took down the Padres in five games, thus beginning San Diego’s offseason earlier than expected.
As the season draws to a close for the Padres, there are going to be some big names potentially hitting the free agent market.

Padres Free Agents
Two of the Padres’ main trade deadline acquisitions, Josh Bell and Brandon Drury, are set to become free agents, and both of them will likely garner some serious interest.
With Drury’s resurgent season, one might expect that he could get a long-term deal with whomever he signs.
The same can be said for Bell, who is entering free agency for the first time in his career.
Bell was acquired from the Washington Nationals in the Juan Soto deal.
Other players that will join them are left-hander Sean Manaea and Mike Clevinger.
Wil Myers has a club option, while Nick Martinez, Jurickson Profar, and Robert Suarez each have player options.
The Padres may have some tough decisions to make this winter as they assess the 2022 season and how to build off of their improbable run to the NLCS for the first time since 1998.
