The San Diego Padres have basically turned into Major League Baseball’s version of Thanos from the Avengers.
In a matter of days, they have added a ton of big pieces to their roster.
Today, they added Juan Soto and Josh Bell in a trade with the Washington Nationals.
With the mass Nationals exodus, the Padres have only gotten stronger and now look to be the World Series favorites, assuming that the Los Angeles Dodgers or New York Yankees don’t make a splash here soon.
MLB insider Robert Murray posted a tweet after the trade was complete, saying that it’s just A.J. Preller’s world and that we’re all just living in it.
The Padres have added Juan Soto and Josh Hader in the last 24 hours and are about to get Fernando Tatis Jr. back.
This is A.J. Preller’s world and we’re just living in it.

Thanos, AKA The Padres, Ready To Snap
The Padres GM in question is known for making big moves and with the additions of Soto and Bell, the Padres look ready to make a run at a World Series title.
It feels very similar to Thanos adding the final few stones to his gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War.
The Padres have just added two pieces that will put them over the top and actually give them a chance to make a run at the Dodgers in the NL West, despite San Diego facing a 12-game deficit.
Things are getting crazy this deadline day.
The Padres are looking their best since 1998, when they last reached the World Series.
This is a team without a World Series title, but this move may have been the final key in securing a championship caliber team out in San Diego.
You can’t sleep on these guys, that’s for sure.
But Preller went out gave them two pieces that will make them heavy favorites to win a World Series title.
