The Green Bay Packers seem to be in a pickle with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
While the team gave him a contract extension this season, it might haunt them in the future.
However, that future might come quicker than they expect, and the MVP quarterback is dealing with multiple injuries.
With him having a broken thumb and issues with his ribs, some feel he should retire.
But if he does, the move can cost the Packers a lot of money in dead cap space next season.
While the team can work something out, they are in a bad spot with Rodgers this season.
However, his injuries aren’t the only reason the Packers might regret their decision to extend his contract earlier this year.
Rodgers Is Holding Back Jordan Love From Developing
Ever since the Packers got Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft, Rodgers let everyone know how he felt about the pick.
Now, with the Packers virtually out of the playoff race, he continues to hold back Love from developing as a player.
Rodgers want to continue playing, despite the impossible chances of them making the playoffs.
But with an aging Rodgers, and a hungry Love, will the backup be willing to stay if the MVP quarterback stays around?
In 2023, Jordan Love will be entering his 4th season, and it's fair to question if he will want to remain as a backup to Aaron Rodgers. If Rodgers does come back, the Packers will have a very difficult decision on Jordan Love. I review why, today. Enjoy!https://t.co/ojHWYPKJ7f

If Love goes into his fourth season with no more NFL game experience, he might leave town.
It will cause major issues, as the Packers got him as the future replacement for their MVP quarterback.
However, they are stuck with Rodgers unless they trade him or he retires.
But both moves will be costly, which is why the team might regret ever extending him this season.
