The 2022 Baltimore Orioles were quite an interesting team to watch for many reasons.
After a 110-loss season in 2021, preseason predictions were not kind to the Orioles for 2022.
But the team came out of nowhere and emerged as a dark-horse postseason contender.
Even after selling at the trade deadline, the Orioles remained in contention and finished just three games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for the final AL Wild Card spot.
In fact, their over/under prediction for wins in 2022 was 62.5, according to BetMGM.
That was the lowest over/under prediction for any team in baseball.
Baltimore won 83 games and finished right in the thick of the postseason chase.

Orioles Exceeded Expectations In 2022
Despite missing the postseason again, the Orioles had quite an interesting and unexpected season.
They now find themselves in a position to potentially contend again in 2023.
After such a surprising finish, there are a lot of things to look forward to for the team.
Perhaps we could see them add some pieces to complement their young core which features stars such as Cedric Mullins, Austin Hays, Gunnar Henderson, John Means, and Adley Rutschman.
It was August 21 when the Orioles reached 63 wins, which was their projected total for the season.
From there, the Orioles continued to surprise baseball pundits by winning games and remaining alive in the playoff hunt.
If 2022 was any indication, fans in Baltimore have a reason to be excited about the team’s future and what it could bring.
Baltimore finished in fourth place in the American League East.
