We’ve talked a lot about how in the back half of a baseball season, we start to see who the true postseason contenders are.
The Baltimore Orioles just so happen to be one of those teams.
They found themselves right in the thick of the playoff race in July.
A long winning streak got them back into contention for the first time since late in the 2017 season.
But since then, they haven’t looked back.
Last night, they picked up an important series win over the AL Central leading Cleveland Guardians.
They’re just a game-and-a-half out of the third AL Wild Card spot and could potentially find a way in.

Orioles Pushing For October
Right now, this is everybody’s favorite Cinderella story.
The Orioles were not expected to do much of anything in 2022, especially after losing 110 games a season ago.
But baseball is rarely that simple.
This truly is a good team that has a chance to surprise all of us down the stretch.
They haven’t been in the postseason since 2016 and they look ready to start an era of winning baseball in Baltimore.
Everybody is pulling for them to reach the postseason and make something happen.
It might be the greatest surprise in baseball since the 2007 Colorado Rockies, who also came out of nowhere and ended up reaching the World Series.
Now, there is a lot of stiff competition in the American League, so the Orioles’ path won’t be easy.
But with young stars such as Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, this is going to be a team worth watching in the final month of the season.
We’ll see if they can ultimately reach the postseason.
