Wednesday morning had NFL fans waking up to a message from Tom Brady.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback left a message on his Twitter account about him retiring from the NFL.
While the retirement marks the end of his NFL legacy, it was time for him to part ways with the football field.
After making his announcement to the world, the NFL put together a tweet with Brady’s biggest accomplishments.
Tom Brady's 23-season career:
– 7x Super Bowl Champion
– 5x Super Bowl MVP
– 3x League MVP
– 89,214 regular season passing yards (1st all time)
– 649 regular season TDs (1st all time)
– 13,400 Playoff passing yards (1st all time)
– 88 playoff TDs (1st all time) pic.twitter.com/sW05kBRP91— NFL (@NFL) February 1, 2023
The list of accomplishments is long, as his 23 year career in the NFL has allowed him to break and set many records.
No other quarterback in the NFL has more career passing yards or touchdowns than Brady.
He’s broken those passing records in both the regular season and the playoffs.
While the NFL has some stud quarterbacks, they have a long road to travel to break the records the legendary quarterback has set.
His career is full of highlights, highlights which no one felt he could accomplish when the New England Patriots took him in the NFL Draft.
However, his career also gives hope to every college quarterback coming into the NFL.
He shows those players that with hard work, any quarterback can become a Super Bowl champion.
In a league where people focus on first-round quarterbacks, Brady broke the system and created his own.
While some people don’t realize it, it’s because of him that fans can believe in a quarterback like Brock Purdy.
Brady’s career gives hope to hard working seventh-round picks like Purdy.
While his career is over, his legacy in the NFL will live on forever.
