Is it safe to say that Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has had an unlucky NFL career so far?
Think about it, he lost Super Bowl LIII against the New England Patriots after the high-powered offense he led generated only three points.
Then, he was traded to the Lions in exchange for Matthew Stafford.
Adding insult to injury, the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI with Stafford and gave him a four-year, $160 million contract extension.
Meanwhile, Goff has been stuck in football purgatory with the Lions and the end of the dark tunnel is nowhere near.
They regressed from a 5-11 mark in 2020 to a 3-13-1 mark last season and almost went a full year without winning.
However, it hasn’t been all downhill for the Lions after earning their first victory last year.

The NFL’s official account tweeted, “Game on the line. First win within reach. @JaredGoff16 delivered.”
It comes with a video that encapsulates the Lions’ game-winning drive against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.
The drive started from their own 36-yard line and involved six pass completions, including the game-winning touchdown pass from Goff to Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The Lions hope that they can have more winning moments like these in 2022.
Will The Lions Roar This Season?
It’s still difficult to be optimistic with the Lions, especially with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings as the potential top teams of their division.
But they could be in for a treat if Aidan Hutchinson and Jameson Williams live up to the hype.
Detroit should also get Romeo Okwara and Jeff Okudah back in full strength to beef up their defense.
However, a playoff berth might not be within reach.
Still, head coach Dan Campbell gets to save his job if he at least doubles the number of victories they had last year.
