That the Denver Broncos have been a disappointment through Week 5 is an understatement.
They are the second-worst team in terms of points per game and have scored a combined 27 points in their two victories.
The Broncos scored only nine points in their loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Russell Wilson and company aren’t making the most of the primetime opportunities being given to them.

NFL on CBS tweeted, “The Russell Wilson Broncos have played 3 primetime games in the first 5 weeks. Denver plays in primetime again next week on Monday night against the Chargers.”
Their Week 3 Sunday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers was the only primetime game they’ve won so far.
That game ended in an 11-10 scoreline that could have been 13-10 if not for the failed two-point conversion.
The Broncos also lost their season opener against Wilson’s former team, the Seattle Seahawks.
That Monday Night Football game might be a bad omen for the team’s season because the Broncos failed to score a touchdown despite several trips to Seattle’s red zone.
Their clock mismanagement also led to a Brandon McManus field goal try from 64 yards.
The Broncos Were Great On Paper
Broadcasters settle primetime game schedules months in advance.
At that time, they selected the Broncos as one of the teams that will have a dominating season.
They were an easy choice because Wilson’s arrival helped them improve at quarterback.
With him on board, running backs Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon had free rein to gain yardage.
Meanwhile, their receiving corps with Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, Courtland Sutton, and K.J. Hamler was ready to dominate.
Therefore, broadcasters wanted the Broncos in their schedule, hoping they would entertain audiences with their explosive offense.
Instead, they have struggled to cross the end zone on several instances.
