The NFL continues to find ways to reach its fans, so they are bringing some regular season games overseas.
Likewise, they are putting up games during holidays just as Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.
However, the league will introduce a new holiday through the online streaming platform Amazon.
The NFL and Amazon announced that in 2023, Prime Video will exclusively stream a “Black Friday” game, the Friday after Thanksgiving. The first-ever NFL Black Friday game will take place on November 24, 2023 with an expected kick off of 3pm ET. Teams are TBD.

NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport tweeted, “The NFL and Amazon announced that in 2023, Prime Video will exclusively stream a “Black Friday” game, the Friday after Thanksgiving. The first-ever NFL Black Friday game will take place on November 24, 2023, with an expected kick-off of 3 pm ET. Teams are TBD.”
This new holiday game is part of the new media rights deal that Amazon signed with the NFL, which will last until 2033.
There is no word yet on which teams will participate in that Black Friday game, but Amazon would like to have a great match-up.
After all, some of their Thursday Night Football games this year have been disappointing.
Frustrating Thursday Night Football Games
Amazon’s games this year fall under three categories: blowouts, close games, and low-scoring affairs.
It isn’t enticing to watch games with scorelines like 12-9, but that’s how the Week 5 game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos ended.
A week later, the Washington Commanders defeated the Chicago Bears with a 12-7 final score.
Aside from those games, other Thursday Night Football offerings have been one-sided.
The Buffalo Bills defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the season opener, 31-10.
The Cleveland Browns also defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-17.
The Cincinnati Bengals also edged the Miami Dolphins, 27-15.
Amazon’s Week 2 offering this season was the best as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, 27-24.
Thursday Night Football for Week 7 will have the Arizona Cardinals face the New Orleans Saints.
