It isn’t easy slowing down Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The two-time MVP is like a rocket when he gets moving and has a way of getting through just about any defense in the league.
This is one of the reasons why his team was able to overtake the Phoenix Suns in the Finals two seasons ago, giving Antetokounmpo his well-earned first championship ring.
But some teams have better luck than others.
Let’s talk about Ben Simmons being the only player in the NBA that can hold Giannis pic.twitter.com/JEpXjLAHqu

Earlier this week, the Bucks played against the Brooklyn Nets in a preseason game and Ben Simmons seemed to get under Antetokounmpo’s skin and do what so many others can’t.
He kept the Greek Freak to just 4-of-16 from the field, an impressive feat.
On paper, it looks like Simmons knows what it takes to stop Antetokounmpo.
But there are some things to keep in mind as the regular season gets going.
Guarding Giannis
Yes, Simmons had a good night against Antetokounmpo but no one should count the Bucks’ star player out just yet.
Out of these two stars, only one of them has won MVP, Finals MVP, and owns a championship ring.
That says a lot about the talent of Antetokounmpo.
Also, he will get even more fired up during the regular season and will fight harder and push back even more.
But Simmons should still be commended.
After more than a year away, he is showing a good amount of promise in these preseason games and he’s been particularly good with rebounds and assists.
He has room to grow and more to prove but he’s off to a good start.
This will be a matchup that people should pay attention to in the months ahead.
A new rivalry might be brewing.
