The Brooklyn Nets have had multiple chances to shake up the entire NBA again and again this summer.
They have definitely not done that – and don’t plan to anytime soon.

After months of speculation and rumors, the latest story coming from inside Brooklyn states that the team has made it clear to any interested parties that they plan to retain Kyrie Irving in the new season.
Yes, it sounds like Irving isn’t going anywhere.
Now, we don’t know how long the Nets will feel this way – a monster deal could be in the works that will catch their eye.
But fans of the Los Angeles Lakers are definitely beginning to accept the fact that they likely will not see Irving in purple and gold in the new season.
Keeping Kyrie
Just a few weeks ago, it seemed like Irving would definitely be packing his bags and heading to the Lakers.
He was seemingly unhappy in Brooklyn and eager to team up with LeBron James again.
But everyone always knew the Nets were in control of Irving’s future – they would only move him if they really wanted.
There have since been conflicting reports about how happy or unhappy Irving really is and also contradictions about the Nets wanting to keep or trade him.
For now, it sounds like Brooklyn is very much wanting to stay in the Irving business but maybe this is all just a way to drum up a bigger trade package from the Lakers – or another team.
However, they will not accept just any deal – they want something massive in exchange for Irving.
No matter the latest rumors, the drama around Irving isn’t over yet.
