It’s too soon to tell but this NBA season’s race for the MVP trophy might be the most intense in league history.
That is because there are just so many amazing players currently doing incredible work throughout the association.
In fact, there are 11 players scoring at least 30 points per game in the NBA right now.
One week into the new season and these players are averaging over 30+ points a game 😲

The usual suspects are on this list.
Ja Morant has 35.3 points per game, while Luka Doncic is earning 34.7.
Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell has 33.3, as does Damian Lillard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and his rival Devin Booker are scoring 32.5 points a game, along with Jayson Tatum.
Kevin Durant is putting up 32 points, De’Aaron Fox is making 31.7, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31 points, and Stephen Curry is making 30.3 points.
What a time to be an NBA fan.
30+ Champions
Will all of these players keep up the pace and continue to produce points like this?
Can you imagine the season if each of these guys keeps playing like this all the way until April and beyond?
Which of these athletes has the best chance of winning this year’s MVP?
Conventional wisdom said to put your money on Doncic before the season started.
But Morant has made a great case for himself so far, as has Lillard and, of course, Antetokounmpo.
However, it is important to remember that this a long season, and a lot can change.
The league’s upcoming MVP might not even be on this list – but there is a good chance that he is.
That is especially true if each of these superstars continues to perform this way.
The MVP trophy is one thing but every single player listed above wants one thing even more: an NBA championship.
