There are a few teams in the NBA that have been on stunning win streaks lately.
The Milwaukee Bucks, for example, have won their last 12 consecutive matches.
Other teams, such as the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics, have been consistent all season long.
Meanwhile, there are other squads in the league that can’t seem to put a good foot forward.
Lowest win% this season:
.224 — Rockets
.237 — Spurs
.254 — Pistons
.283 — Hornets pic.twitter.com/c2G1rw8Q0S— StatMuse (@statmuse) February 21, 2023
As pointed out by StatMuse, there are four teams with truly dismal win percentages this season.
Those teams are the Houston Rockets (.224), San Antonio Spurs (.237), Detroit Pistons (.254), and Charlotte Hornets (.283).
Unless something stunning and frankly unbelievable happens, none of these teams will make the playoffs this year, which is obviously painful for the fans.
However, their disheartening records put them in a good position to land rookie star Victor Wembanyama in the upcoming NBA Draft this summer.
Each of the teams listed has a young, promising core.
The Hornets, for example, have LaMelo Ball, while the Pistons have multiple great up-and-comers, including Cade Cunningham, who is currently out because of an injury.
Even the squads that don’t acquire Wembanyama have reason to believe that the future will be bright.
They won’t stay this bad forever.
But they should be spending this time making a plan and plotting a future course.
They can’t just wait for the NBA Draft to grace them with more talent; they need to start working on rebounding right now when they are at their lowest points.
By this time next year, one of these teams might be completely transformed and in the running for the playoffs.
Until then, fans will have to sit tight and be patient.
