Throughout the history of the NBA, there have been countless superstars who have earned millions of fans, found great success, and changed the league.
But there are few people who have had the impact of Shaquille O’Neal.
During his 19 years in the league, O’Neal became a larger-than-life competitor who won four championships, raised global awareness about the game, and altered multiple franchises forever.
Monday marks his 51st birthday, and his friends at NBA on TNT hopped on Twitter to celebrate.

The NBA On TNT team wasn’t the only one to raise a glass to O’Neal, as there are many who are celebrating the big man on his big day.
That’s because O’Neal really is an NBA figure unlike many others.
He was a 15-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, and three-time Finals MVP.
O’Neal was known for his wonderful and sometimes strained partnership with Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers as well as his terrific start with the Orlando Magic and later success with the Miami Heat.
He ended his career on the court with the Boston Celtics but that didn’t mark the conclusion of his association with the league.
Since retiring from the game, O’Neal has actually gotten more time on television as an expert analyst and one of the most well-known basketball personalities around.
He is not only on NBA On TNT, he is all over podcasts and multiple networks talking about the game he loves.
Plus, he is involved with numerous companies and is a spokesperson for everything from computer printers to car insurance.
O’Neal is more than just a basketball legend, he is now one of the biggest household names in the world.
