After a lot of surprises, twists, turns, and plenty of Woj Bombs, the NBA trade deadline is finally over.
It’s been a busy week for the Association.
Indeed, some people say that this was the busiest and most shocking trade deadline in history, especially with the massive Kevin Durant trade that shook the entire league on Thursday morning.
There were quite a few stars that moved around and plenty of them are headed to the buyout market.
If a team trades for a player but doesn’t intend to use them, they will buy out their contract, meaning they are free to roam around the league and find another team to call their own.
There are a lot of talented players available on the buyout market:
Russ Westbrook
John Wall
Will Barton
Danny Green
Terrance Ross
Reggie Jackson
Patrick Beverley
Serge Ibaka
George Hill
Dewayne Dedmon
Goga Bitadze
maybe Nerlens Noel— Tommy Beer (@TommyBeer) February 10, 2023
There are quite a few players who will potentially be on the buyout market in the days ahead.
Athletes like John Wall, Will Barton, Danny Green, Reggie Jackson, Patrick Beverley, and Russell Westbrook are a few of the talents who could be up for grabs.
This isn’t necessarily a statement of their skills but rather what a team is willing to spend and their focus at the moment.
There are already rumored suitors for several of these players including Westbrook, Jackson, Green, and George Hill.
It is likely that most of the men listed above will be playing for a new team shortly.
However, some of them might enter the purgatory that others have recently slipped into.
The league’s free agency market is still quite crowded, months after the season began.
Players like Carmelo Anthony and Rajon Rondo, for example, are still waiting for someone to call them and offer them a contract.
Will the same fate await any of these players?
