There are two MLB teams in New York City, those being the New York Mets and the New York Yankees.
There’s also the famed Empire State Building.
The city itself is split between the Yankees and the Mets.
Half of the people are Yankees fans, while the other half are Mets fans.
But with the Subway Series taking place right now, whoever wins is likely going to be featured in some way on the top of the Empire State Building.
Last night, the Mets won by a final of 6-3 in the first game of the series.
Mets writer Tim Healey tweeted a picture of the top of the Empire State Building after last night’s game and how it was lit up with Mets colors.

Mets Fans, Stand Up!
At least for last night, the allegiance of the people working in the Empire State Building was to the Mets.
Granted, that building is a staple of New York City, as are the teams.
It’s very possible that if the Yankees win tonight, they’ll make the top lights Yankee colors.
But this is a cool little thing they have going right now.
Those colors looked absolutely beautiful at the top of the building.
New York City has always been a city that is passionate about its sports teams.
Last night, they showed off a little Mets pride after they took down the Yankees.
Again, we may see Yankee colors tonight if the Yankees pull off a win.
But whoever started this little trend deserves a lot of credit.
That’s a fun way to celebrate your city’s teams.
The colors looked great at the top of the building.
We’ll see if they do it again tonight.
