It’s been a fun year out in Queens.
The New York Mets have been firing on all cylinders since Opening Day.
The offense has been elite and so has the pitching.
With players such as Starling Marte, Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, Francisco Lindor, and Mark Canha, the Mets have been absolutely rolling lately.
Speaking of McNeil and Canha, both have been raking lately for the Mets.
McNeil has posted a 1.000 OPS and is hitting .396 with 11 RBI and 15 extra-base hits in the month of August.
Canha has been no slouch, and is hitting .304 with 13 extra-base hits, 17 RBI, and a 1.018 OPS this month.

McNeil, Canha Carrying Mets
These two guys have been carrying the Mets lately.
They’re a big reason why the Mets have been able to hold off the charging Atlanta Braves in the NL East standings.
New York still maintains a three-game lead over the defending champions.
But these guys have been tearing it up as of late.
The Mets are currently fourth in the National League in runs scored with 610, and a lot of it is thanks to Canha and McNeil.
Canha of course, had the bat flip of the century last week in Philadelphia, when the Mets rallied from another big deficit to take the lead on a home run and hand the Philadelphia Phillies a gut-wrenching loss, just as they did back in April.
McNeil has been with the Mets for several years now and has found himself in a few All-Star Games.
These two guys are going to be key players down the stretch if the Mets want to hold off the Braves in the NL East.
They’ve carried the load in August and there’s no reason to believe they won’t stay hot.
