The New York Mets have not been good so far this season.
For some reason, their offense is nonexistent so far.
They are losing to bad teams and have an 18-20 record.
Despite having a multitude of injuries to their pitching staff, this slow start is on the offense.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, the Mets have been shut out seven times this season.
To put that into perspective, they were only shut out eight times last year.

Some of the at-bats the Mets are putting together on a nightly basis are unacceptable.
For a team full of former All-Star players, they should not be this bad.
On the season the Mets have a team batting average of .237.
That ranks 22nd in MLB.
Also, the Mets have hit 41 home runs this season and 13 of them have been from Pete Alonso.
While Alonso leads the MLB in home runs, his team is tied for 16th in that category.
Last season, the Mets won 101 games and were the first Wild Card team in the NL.
It does not look like they will be anywhere near that many wins this season.
This looks like a team that will need to make a trade to turn their season around.
Some type of shake-up needs to happen to get them to play better.
Maybe the Mets will look into firing their hitting coach.
We have seen that work with teams in the past, as once people start losing jobs the players focus on what they can do better.
Ultimately, this Mets team has talented players.
But, if they do not start playing better soon this team will be in trouble.
