A big series is coming next week.
The New York Mets and the New York Yankees will go at it in a brief two-game series at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The two teams last played each other in a two-game set at the end of July.
In that series the Mets won both games.
Now, they’ll look to assert their New York City dominance as they try and sweep the season series with the Bronx Bombers, and they’ll be set up pretty well for their upcoming series with their crosstown rivals.
They’ll have Max Scherzer set for Monday’s game and Jacob deGrom set for the second game.
The Mets have Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom lined up to face the Yankees on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Mets Ready To Pounce On Yankees
This is the Mets’ chance to really step on the Yankees’ throats and prove that they’re the ones that own New York, at least at the moment.
The Mets currently own the second-best record in the National League at 76-43, while the Yankees are just a few games behind the Houston Astros for the best record in the American League at 73-46.
The Mets have the edge as of now and this is their opportunity to prove that they are the best team in New York.
For the Yankees, this is a huge series.
They haven’t been playing good baseball lately and they’ll need to come out strong against the Mets if they want to prove that they are still the team to beat in New York.
With Scherzer and deGrom set for both games at Yankee Stadium, the Mets appear to have the inside track, but this should be a fun series.
It’s also going to be crucial for both teams as they try and establish themselves as New York’s best team.
