The Seattle Mariners have turned things around after a rough start to the 2022 season.

The team went 90-72 last season and finished just short of the postseason, but this year, they look like a serious threat to reach the playoffs and potentially even make a deep run.

This is a team that has not reached the playoffs since 2001, when they won 116 games and lost to the New York Yankees in the ALCS.

In fact, their playoff odds right now sit at 94.2%, according to FanGraphs.

Those just so happen to be the highest playoff odds in the American League for teams other than the Yankees and the Houston Astros.

The Mariners' playoff odds are up to a season-high 94.2% after today's win, per @fangraphs — the highest in the AL other than the Yankees and Astros.

Mariners Have Legitimate Shot At The Postseason

Get ready, Mariners fans!

Your team is looking pretty good.

This is a huge step forward for Seattle.

Again, this is a team that has not reached the postseason since 2001.

Now, they have a legitimate shot to end that drought and potentially make a deep run into October.

The Mariners currently hold the second Wild Card spot in the American League with a 70-58 record.

They likely won’t catch Houston in the AL West, as they trail the defending American League champions by 11.5 games for first place.

But regardless of how they reach the postseason, they still have a pretty good shot at making it and potentially going deep.

That would be a nice treat for Seattle fans, who haven’t witnessed a whole lot of success for their team in over two decades.

This is a team that could surprise a lot of people when October comes around.

You never know what can happen.

Seattle could end up being a sleeper this postseason, should they hold onto their spot and make it.
