The Mariners Are Back On Track After A Rough Weekend

After closing out the first half of the 2022 regular season with a 14-game winning streak that got them back into postseason contention, the Seattle Mariners ran into a bit of buzzsaw when the Houston Astros came into town to start the second half.

Seattle had gotten to within nine games of the defending American League champions, but that quickly changed over the weekend.

However, after a little blip on the radar screen over the weekend, the Mariners appear to be back on track.

Last night, they walked off the Texas Rangers on Carlos Santana‘s sacrifice fly.

MLB on FOX tweeted a video of the highlight, saying in the caption that the Mariners just keep on winning.

The Mariners continue to just win.

Mariners Coming To Life

This is a team that everybody thought was going to be good this season.

Their start was anything but that.

However, here they are winning ballgames again.

They secured a series win over the Rangers with last night’s walk-off win and are back to their winning ways.

They’ve put the Astros series behind them and are back on track after a rough weekend.

This is an exciting time to be a Mariners fan.

With the extra playoff spot being added, the team has a much better shot at ending their postseason drought, one that spans all the way back to 2001.

They came close last year, but they’re in playoff position right now and have a lot to look forward to as we kick off the second half of the season.

This is certainly going to be a team to watch in the AL Wild Card race.

We’ll see if they’ve got what it takes to ultimately end their playoff drought.
