Defying all preseason odds and expectations, the Detroit Lions are still very much alive in the playoff race.
Despite their 1-6 start to the year, the Lions now find themselves with a 5-7 record.

In this span of time, the Lions have knocked off the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Their only loss was to the Buffalo Bills, who are currently the number-one team in the AFC.
The Lions’ Unlikely Postseason Odds
Much like the Packers, their NFC North counterpart, the Lions will likely need to win their remaining games to have a chance at the postseason.
They end the season with a schedule of the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, Bears, and Packers.
If they can win the rest of these games, or at least, win four out of five, the Lions will do their part to potentially make the playoffs.
If successful, the Lions would end a playoff drought of 11 years.
Ahead of the Lions are the 7-5 Washington Commanders, 7-5 Seattle Seahawks, and 7-4-1 Giants.
They would need each of these teams to lose at least three of their remaining games to have a chance at the playoffs.
Plus, they will need to win a crucial Week 18 game against the Packers, who are on their tail with a 5-8 record.
If the Packers are also able to win out, there is a good chance that the Week 18 game between the two teams may decide who sneaks into the playoffs.
The Vikings had the Minneapolis Miracle a few years back.
Can Detroit pull off a Motor City miracle and make the playoffs for the first time in 11 years?
