Many fans of the Los Angeles Lakers were hoping the team would be revived by the All-Star break and would storm into the last leg of the season with newfound purpose and a determination to win and turn things around.
Well, looks like that isn’t happening.
In perhaps their most embarrassing outing yet, the Lakers were taken down 123-95 by the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, confirming to fans that this team isn’t getting any better soon and that it might just be time to throw in the towel for this season.
Those attending the home game were none too happy with the Lakers, as they actually booed the team as LA continued to collapse in the third quarter.
The Lakers, losers of 8 out of 11 coming into the night, are booed off the court here by the https://t.co/RbGGF9G7ZG crowd with a timeout with 5:39 remaining in the 3rd Q, down 22 to the Pelicans – a team they are trying to stave off in the playoff race.

The Lakers have lost 8 out of their last 11 and are being defeated by far worse teams again and again.
Worst of all, they are making little to no alterations even after being beat repeatedly.
The fans of LA have every right to be mad – but they shouldn’t expect much change.
This Is LA
You can blame Russell Westbrook or head coach Frank Vogel or Anthony Davis‘ slew of injuries but the fact of the matter is this: the Lakers are really bad this year and they aren’t getting much better.
Why aren’t they getting better?
Because they have so few options.
Their contracts are too massive and hard to trade so there is no chance the team can get any better soon.
The team you saw lose on Sunday night is most likely the team you will see next season too.
With the postseason just a few weeks away, far too much needs to be changed in too short of a time.
LA fans are realizing that this is the team they are stuck with for the foreseeable future – and they’re not happy about it.
