For one brief moment last week, it looked as if maybe the Los Angeles Lakers were getting their problems out of the way, coming together as a team, and getting on the right track.
Fans were delighted – they were even predicting the team could win a few more consecutive games.
Well, that didn’t last long.
The Lakers are losing again, after falling in the last two.
Things are sadly looking as they were at the start of the season – and this time the team doesn’t have the option of blaming Westbrook anymore since he’s actually doing well.

No one is sure what the Lakers will do next but the latest rumor suggests they could pursue something huge.
NBA expert and writer Bill Simmons reports that Davis is available for a trade.
Even just months ago, the idea of the Lakers trading Davis seemed wild and impossible to believe.
Now, it doesn’t sound so far-fetched.
Davis’ Days Done?
LA traded away an awful lot for Davis a few seasons ago.
And it paid off, as he was a significant part of the team’s success in 2020 and helped them win their latest Finals.
But Davis has suffered many injuries and other are some who say he doesn’t play with the same sort of power he once had.
His numbers are still strong – near career highs at times, in fact – but he isn’t as reliable nor as consequential on the court.
The Lakers will never move James so Davis is really the team’s biggest trade asset, along with Westbrook.
Any rumor of him being traded should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
But if there really are rumors of him leaving LA, that would be an enormous move by the team.
