The Los Angeles Lakers are having a miserable season.
What promised to be a year where they would contend for a title with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook on their side has reached a new low, and things don’t appear to be getting better anytime soon.
The Lakers are truly at a crossroads and are struggling to stay in playoff position.
Last night, things continued to go south for them, as they allowed a barrage of points in overtime and were ultimately defeated by the Houston Rockets, the team with the worst record in the entire Western Conference.
The Lakers just lost to the Rockets.
The Rockets were missing 2 starters and were 2-17 in their last 19 games.

A Downward Spiral
If you’re the Lakers, this is absolutely embarrassing.
They continue to be in self-destruct mode and lose games they should win.
Los Angeles is a team coming apart at the seams.
As the tweet above shows, the Rockets were short-handed, playing without two of their starters, while also having lost 17 of their previous 19 games.
The Lakers are truly lucky that the play-in tournament exists now as a part of the NBA playoffs.
Without it, they wouldn’t be in playoff position.
And at this rate, they may not even make it to the play-in tournament.
They don’t look like a team that can even get past the first game.
Westbrook is having a bad season, and James had a less than desirable night.
The Lakers are still ninth in the Western Conference, but their loss to the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday dropped them to nine games below the .500, at 28-37.
It’s clear at this point who the Lakers are.
They have shown their identity all season long and have proven to be a broken team with a bleak future, at least for this season.
