After a week of preseason play, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers can breathe a slight sigh of relief.
That is because the team has shown some serious promise during their preseason matches.
They aren’t yet ready for another Finals run but they are definitely looking better than they did last season.
Particularly impressive has been the hard work of the team’s two biggest stars.

The preseason totals for both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been terrific.
James put up 52 points and went 17-of-30 from the field (56.7%) while shooting 5-of-12 from the three (41.7%) in just 58 minutes.
Meanwhile, Davis earned 58 points and went 20-of-38 from the field (52.6%) while scoring 4-of-10 from the three (40%) in 64 minutes.
These are the stats that fans were hoping for but there is still a lot of trepidation about the season ahead.
Leading The Lakers
If James and Davis keep playing like this in the regular season, the Lakers could make last year really feel like a horrible but forgettable nightmare.
However, the fear is that both of these players won’t remain healthy all season long.
And, as we have seen, if they are gone, LA suffers in a huge way.
There is a lot more to be worried about, of course: will head coach Darvin Ham‘s new style work for the team, can the young stars shine brighter than last year, does Russell Westbrook even want to be there?
But the biggest worry is that James and Davis will not stay healthy.
The hope is that they can because that would open up so many possibilities for the Lakers.
Fans of the team like what they have seen in the preseason but they are sure the other shoe is about to drop.
