It’s been a long time since the NBA Western Conference was so fluid with so many changes and unpredictable moves up and down.
It feels like it was just yesterday that the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers were the best teams in the conference.
They are now the 12th and 10th teams, respectively.
As for the Los Angeles Lakers, they have been struggling all season long and even the idea of them making the play-in tournament seemed like a long shot for a while.

But due to the current six-game losing streak of the Los Angeles Clippers, the Lakers are just one game back from the sixth seed.
The Lakers are currently 19-21, while the Golden State Warriors in 6th place are 20-20.
This means that not only do the Lakers have a chance of getting back into playoff contention, but so do teams like the Blazers, Jazz, and even the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It’s not just the bottom of the standings that are moving and shaking right now.
The Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies are currently tied at 26-13 and scrapping it out for the top spot.
Behind them are the New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, and Sacramento Kings, who are just a few wins away from climbing to the top.
This season has been full of many surprises in its first half and things could calm down in the months ahead.
There is a chance everything settles and becomes far more predictable and normal.
But fans don’t want that – they love the excitement and surprising fluctuations throughout the West.
While the East is a bit more stable, the West is once again wild.
