Even though the Los Angeles Lakers have won six of their last eight games, they are still looking to make some changes.
This shouldn’t be surprising because, despite their recent string of wins, the team is still 13th in the West with an aching 8-12 record.
Their time with LeBron James draws closer and closer to an end with every game and they want to capitalize on his power and compete for another ring before retirement arrives.
Barring some sort of miracle, that will not happen with the lineup the team currently has.

Therefore, trades are still being considered.
Apparently, the Lakers have a few options on the table.
The Lakers are leaning toward trading a combination of Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn, and other picks with a possible separate deal featuring Russell Westbrook and one first-round draft pick.
No matter which direction they take, these deals would happen after the December 15 date when free agents become available for signing.
LA Looking For Change
So it looks like those future draft picks are going to be dealt away.
For months now, Rob Pelinka and his office have desperately held onto these picks, instead wanting to rely on trading players instead.
But it sounds like the front office has finally come around and is ready to ship them off.
The team is still contemplating what it will do but it’s clear that they are weighing some substantial trades in the next few weeks.
It’s not known which NBA players they would be targeting but the team desperately needs strong outside shooting and should be focused on perimeter threats.
That was what they were supposed to get with both Beverley and Westbrook, but it didn’t end up happening.
After months of pleas from the fans, are we about to see a new-look Lakers?
