Even the most committed, die-hard, optimistic fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have to admit that this season probably isn’t turning around.
The troubles for this struggling team continued on Monday night as the Lakers were taken down by the Toronto Raptors, 114-103.
There came a point during the game when Toronto led the Lakers by 24 points.
This created a new milestone for the Lakers, one that they would surely like to forget as soon as possible.

The Lakers have now trailed by double-digits in 11 of their last 12 games.
For a team that was one considered title contenders, this is embarrassing.
And for a team that is struggling to even make the postseason, this is downright terrifying.
Throwing In The Towel
There comes a point when a losing team should just throw in the towel and start to focus on next season.
Of course, no one on the Lakers will ever admit to doing that – they’re natural competitors, after all – but the chances of them turning things around and making a strong playoff run are slim to nil.
The Lakers actually having an impact in the postseason would be one of the biggest turnarounds in NBA history.
There is nothing to suggest the Lakers will get it together in the next few weeks.
They consistently show no enthusiasm, no cohesion, no ability to get themselves working as a unit.
The team is now ninth in the West, sitting on a record of 29-39.
They are barely hanging on to that ninth spot and could easily fall to tenth – or out of Play-In contention altogether – in the weeks ahead.
The team is in awful shape and they show no signs of changing that.
