Although they have been burned so many times before, fans of the New York Knicks are becoming cautiously optimistic.
Their team, although still not great, is getting better.
But how long will it last?

NBA writer Jonathan Macri pointed out that the Knicks, who were the ranked 26th in defensive rating just a little more than a week ago, are now the 10th-best defensive team in the league.
That is a massive turnaround in a short amount of time and the Knicks indeed have had a string of good wins lately.
But it’s always one step forward and two or three steps back with the Knicks so fans of the team aren’t getting their hopes up yet.
Big Wins In The Big Apple
The Knicks have won 5 of their last 7 games.
That’s always good news but the Knicks have taken down teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, and Sacramento Kings recently, which is even more commendable.
Several players on the team, including RJ Barrett and Julius Randle, have looked better than usual and Jalen Brunson has continued to make fans happy.
But loyal Knicks followers have been through all of this before, watching their team seemingly get it together only to drop the ball – literally – again.
Up next for the Knicks will be the Chicago Bulls twice, the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors.
That’s a mixed bag of challenges so it’ll be interesting to see if the team can continue to triumph.
They are playing better than they have in weeks but the Knicks still have a way to go before they are definite playoff contenders.
The Knicks are currently the 8th team in the East with a 14-13 record.
