As expected, the New York Knicks made a substantial trade on Wednesday night, hours before the NBA trade deadline.
And, as expected, it involved Cam Reddish.

The Knicks decided to trade Reddish, Ryan Arcidiacono, Svi Mykhailiuk, and a protected first-round pick to the Portland Trail Blazers for Josh Hart.
Not very much of this trade is shocking to those who have been paying attention.
The Knicks have made it very clear lately that Reddish’s time with the team was coming to an end.
In fact, head coach Tom Thibodeau pulled him from rotation weeks ago and the team was actively seeking a trade partner.
A few days ago, news leaked that the Knicks had their eyes on Hart out of Portland so this deal just made perfect sense for both sides.
Hart has made a name for himself as a great rebounder and significant role player.
He is currently averaging 9.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists for the Blazers and has played in each of their 51 games so far.
As for Reddish, his move to Portland will give him another chance to establish himself in the league.
He has been lacking lately in New York, putting up 8.4 points a game in limited minutes for the Knicks before being benched.
Reddish has never had the career that people expected but many feel that he will flourish with the right squad and coaching staff.
If he can find consistent time on the court and a team that fits well with him, Reddish might remind people why he was a first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
This trade was smart for both teams and it stands a chance to make each more competitive right before the All-Star break.
