Wednesday night may mark the beginning of a new era for the Sacramento Kings.
Following the hiring of a new head coach and quite a few promising signing in the offseason, the Kings are posing to maybe have a season much better than the last few…dozen.
However, the team will be missing two stars on their opening night, including one who could be the future of the team.
Keegan Murray (health and safety) has officially been ruled out for the home opener on Wednesday. Kevin Huerter (left ankle soreness) is questionable, although he participated fully in practice on Tuesday.

Kevin Huerter is questionable for Wednesday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, which is too bad because the Kings could use his shooting skills.
But the biggest letdown for Sacramento fans is that Keegan Murray has been ruled out of the game due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
Murray first entered the protocols back on Friday.
At the time, coach Mike Brown said he wouldn’t put Murray into the game unless he could practice with the rest of the team first.
It seems like he won’t be able to practice because he’s not even out of the health and safety protocols yet, therefore he won’t play.
Kings With Keegan
Murray was selected as the fourth overall pick in last summer’s draft and seems to have what the Kings need.
He is fast, he is a good shooter from all over the court, and he is also capable of landing rebounds too (7.0 during his time with Iowa).
The addition of Murray shows that the Kings are attempting to become one of the fastest, youngest teams in the league, capable of sinking shots from the perimeter and beyond and impossible to slow down.
Murray could very well become the face of the team in the next few years.
Unfortunately, he won’t be starting his career on Wednesday night.
