The Green Bay Packers have decided that reigning Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers will be their quarterback for the foreseeable future.
The veteran play-caller will be staying with the team that drafted him in 2005 on a historic but cap-friendly deal.
If that’s the case, what will the Packers do with backup quarterback Jordan Love?
Was he nothing but a ploy to light a fire under Rodgers?
Green Bay traded their first and fourth-round picks to the Miami Dolphins to trade up for the Utah State quarterback.
Two years after, it looks like the Packers wasted that pick for a player they don’t need.
Glad they have Jordan Love instead of a receiver now https://t.co/dVrZtd1NxK

Reddit CFB tweeted, “Glad they have Jordan Love instead of a receiver now.”
Imagine how great the Packers would be if they took another wideout to play alongside Davante Adams.
By the time Green Bay was on the clock, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., Chase Claypool, and Gabriel Davis were still available.
The Green Bay front office couldn’t take back those picks that landed Love anymore, but they can choose to move forward.
Where Will Jordan Love Go From Here?
There’s no sense keeping a first-round draft pick like Love on the bench if you have no intention to play him.
That’s why the San Francisco 49ers will be going with Trey Lance even if Jimmy Garoppolo helped them reach the NFC Championship Game.
Therefore, Love’s talent will only shine if he leaves Green Bay via a trade.
Teams around the NFL will just need to take a chance and hope he can live up to the potential Green Bay once saw in him.
